Since I was young, I’ve known that I wanted to work with animals. When I got the chance to complete a work experience placement at a local animal hospital, I decided to become a veterinarian and have never looked back! I’ve worked with a variety of big and small animal friends and have particularly enjoyed working with exotics. It is very important to me to make appointments as low-stress as possible for patients of all species. I also have a special interest in strengthening the bonds we have with our pets. I am the 2022 recipient of the Rolf C. Hagen Inc. Award for Clinical Excellence in Exotic Pet Medicine.
Our family’s two Formosan Mountain Dog mixes, Soy Sauce and Cola, are always up for some mischief. You can catch Cola lounging right in the middle of the stairs. She only moves when the sun beam moves, so we’re constantly trying to step around her. Soy Sauce is the most curious scaredy-cat I’ve ever met. He’ll investigate anything and is always ready to jump 3ft into the air when it moves. And that’s why I love them so much.
In my spare time, I can be found playing board games and video games with my friends or enjoying a good book. After 4 years in the Prairies, I’m also planning on taking full advantage of BC’s great outdoors.
